Modular Industrial Switch with 10 Gigabit fiber uplinks and MACsec - High performance, data security and redundant data transfer in harsh environments

Hamm, 03. May 2022 - The new 10 Gigabit expansion module for the Profi Line Modular industrial switch from MICROSENS offers maximum performance even in the backbone. In industrial and secure environments, the increased use of high-resolution video surveillance is resulting in a rapid increase in data volumes. With its high-performance chipset, the two 10 Gigabit uplink ports and MACsec encryption, this new module is ideally suited for applications in these areas.

The 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks ensure that the ever-increasing data volumes from the end devices reach their destination quickly via the network. The hardware-based encryption according to IEEE 802.1ae MACsec ensures that highly sensitive information is transmitted securely and protected against manipulation.

The 10 Gigabit expansion module is connected to the Profi Line Modular Switch via the expansion port. It has two 1/10GBASE-X uplink ports, which are designed as slots for SFP/SFP+ transceivers. For the connection of further end devices, the module offers seven additional 10/100/1000BASE-T gigabit ports.

The robust Profi Line Modular series from MICROSENS stands for maximum reliability even under harsh environmental conditions. A ring topology can be set up via the uplink ports for higher network availability. The switch firmware and configuration settings are stored on an access-protected SD card. If the hardware is ever replaced, the card is simply inserted into the new switch, which then takes over all settings automatically.

Highest performance and reliability in the smallest space, paired with the flexibility and profitability of a modular design - the Profi Line Modular Series from MICROSENS is the switch family for professional applications.

About MICROSENS

Transmitting information via fiber optic connections offers numerous benefits. MICROSENS GmbH & Co. KG recognised this very early on. As one of the pioneers, the company has developed and produced high-performance communications and transmission systems in Germany since 1993. Individually matched to the demands of diverse usage areas and embedded in comprehensive concepts for individual sectors. But, above all, close to the customer. Technical challenges from customer projects are incorporated directly into product development. This way, IP-based automation solutions are created for modern buildings, cost-efficient network concepts for the office and workspace, robust and fail-safe solutions for industrial environments, optical transport systems future-oriented wide area networks and efficient coupling of sites and computer centres.
