Description

The Optical Crossbar Module of the MICROSENS MSP800 platform offers full 3R signal regeneration coupled with a free programmable cross-matrix for data rates from 100 MBit/s up to 2.7 GBit/s.

This module extends the pure retiming functionality but still has the advantages of a very flexibly switchable crossbar logic. This allows a free allocation of channels in addition to redundant design. This enables 1:1 and 1:n connections for broadcast applications.

When using this module, a wide variety of applications can be implemented: Twin converters for point-to-point connections with high port densities, hardware redundancy, channel protection and signal multiplication. The use of SFPs ensures simple adaptation to the most varied requirements of the transmission path.

When using the crossbar as an active transponder card in xWDM systems, it is perfectly suited for direct conversion from local fiber optic ports to WDM channels. In this case, two Gigabit Services can be implemented on just one card. This is an extremely compact and cost-efficient solution for WDM applications.
