Description

The MICROSENS MSP800 ITU G.703/LWL converter module enables the transmission of a 2.048 Mbit/s interface according to ITU G.703 standard via a fiber optic line. The optical transmission makes it possible to extend electrical G.703 connections by up to 2 km when using multimode fiber optics. When using single mode fiber, connections of up to 100 km can be established.

The optical transmission of the electrical G.703 signal is transparent, i.e. control information (e.g. for frame synchronization) is transmitted without interference. In addition to low attenuation, the use of fiber optic cables offers the advantage of interference and monitoring immunity. It is also possible to integrate existing fiber optic lines.

The converter is always used in pairs. The device is designed as a module card and can be used in a variety of ways thanks to the corresponding housing variants. In addition to the desktop versions, modular housings for 19" mounting are also available.

Colour-coded LEDs indicate the current status of the converter and can be used for fault diagnosis of the transmission path.
