The standardised, open network protocol BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) has established itself as the central communication protocol in modern building automation. It enables manufacturer-independent, interoperable communication between different automation components. With the new BACnet support, MICROSENS switches can communicate directly with controllers, sensors and actuators and integrate their data into a building management system.
The switch firmware now includes a BACnet/IP interface that allows relevant data to be processed directly on the switch. The integrated MicroScript scripting language allows measured values and control commands to be flexibly adapted and forwarded. This enables decentralised implementation of intelligent control and regulation functions without additional hardware.
Regular firmware updates from MICROSENS not only offer technical improvements, but also provide new functions to give users maximum benefit. This applies to both large IT networks and smaller infrastructures with only a few micro switches.
BACnet also for older devices: A free firmware update also gives older MICROSENS devices from the G6 device line BACnet functionality.
At MICROSENS, existing customers are important and are therefore given special consideration in our development work. Our devices are characterised by high reliability and a long service life. This means that users of older hardware also benefit from new features.
During the firmware update, existing device settings and configurations are automatically transferred so that the micro switches can continue to operate with their previous settings. Manual intervention or reconfiguration is not necessary.
